Banff / Lake Louise

Discover the big 3 in Canada's Protected Playgroundâ„¢

Banff National Park is home to one of the longest ski seasons in North America and three world-class ski areas: Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village, and Lake Louise, which are all located within 45 minutes of the Town of Banff.

While skiing and boarding in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an experience not to be missed, mountain enthusiasts can also take advantage of what is known as the Tri Area pass or the "Big 3 Season Pass", which provides you with access to 8,000 acres of ski terrain in Canada's Protected Playgroundâ„¢ at Mount Norquay (including night skiing), Sunshine Village, and the Lake Louise Ski Area.

Mt. Norquay is the most easily accessible of all three ski areas, as it is only located just 10 minutes form Banff and showcases a quintet of super-steep, mogul-studded freefalls served by the original Norquay double chair. For skiiers and boarders looking for something a bit more hardcore then head up to Upper Lone Pine and Gun Run, a dynamite black-diamond duo that is sure to thrill.

Dating back to 1928, Sunshine Village is one of North America's oldest ski resorts and has recently seen heavy investments pored into the resort focusing on massive infrastructure improvements and renovations, as well as even adding a third mountain called Goat's Eye, which is serviced by some of the continent's fastest high speed detachable quads.

There is something truly special about Sunshine Village, which reaches elevations of over 9,000 feet. It is here where you can stand at the top of a run, high up on the Continental Divide, far above the tree-line with unobstructed views of the surrounding peaks. The powder is pretty special to with a snow record that is so impressive that snow-making would be considered akin to flushing money down the drain.

Who hasn't heard of Lake Louise, with one of the most spectacular sceneries in the world. Well during Winter it's also one of the largest ski areas in North America, that will pretty much give you everything from superior views, big bowls, long runs and lots of terrain for all ability levels. With 4200 skiable acres, spread across four mountain faces you'll find beginner, intermediate and expert runs down from every chair.
