Borovets

Bulgaria's biggest and most modern ski resort with a history dating back to 1896

Set amidst the majestic Rila Mountains, Borovets is internationally renowned and Bulgaria's number one ski resort. Only 75 kilometres from Sofia the resort has hosted Alpine World Cup Competitions twice. There are two main ski areas, which are ideal for beginners and intermediates whilst advanced skiers can test their skills on the World Cup Competition runs.

Visitors enjoy the excellent value and fun environment this ski resort has to offer as well as the colourful local traditions that make skiing here a little more unique! Resort attractions include indoor tennis courts; bowling; spa facilities available to the public in the larger hotels; horse drawn carriage rides; souvenir and sports shops, a good choice of restaurants offering a large variety of cuisines, from Chinese to European bistro; lively bars, live music and nightclubs. Après-ski programmes include skidoo safari, quad bike safari; pub-crawl, BBQ and wine tasting, Bulgarian folk nights, tobogganing; and the occasional ski away day which you pay for locally. Snowboard lovers can enjoy the fun park and do jumps according to their abilities.
