Grindelwald/Interlaken Transfers

Flying into Zurich and taking the train is the most convenient travel option to reach both Interlaken and Grindelwald. Interlaken railway station is the most convenient and links Grindelwald and the other 2 resorts in the area.

Arrival by Train:

From Bern a regional train goes to Interlaken. You can complete the journey to Grindelwald by regional train. Flying to Zurich International Airport - a rail terminal at the airport is available, with two trains an hour going to Interlaken. The trip takes about 3 to 4 hours. If you have a Swiss Pass it is free to travel from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald. Cable-cars and mountain trains are not free, but you can obtain a 50% reduction by showing your pass.

Arrival by Car:

Located 75 kilometres southeast of Bern, in the canton of Bern. From Basel and Lucerne the A8 goes to Interlaken and routes 9 and 44 go to Grindelwald (935 kilometres; ten hours). If you fly to Zurich International Airport and continue by car, head for Interlaken along the autobans A20/A4 and A8, and then take routes 9 and 44.
