Grindelwald/Interlaken

Great intermediates ski resort set amidst magnificent scenery

Dramatically set in magnificent scenery directly beneath the towering north face of the 4,000 metre high Eiger. This ski resort has extensive, gentle runs, ideal for intermediates, who will revel in the red runs that are offered at both "First" and the Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen areas. There are also links to Wengen, which makes for a collective ski area of around 160 kilometres. Beginners can test their skills on the nursery runs at Bodmi, located at the top of the village, and then head to the blue runs on the "First" ski area.

The Jungfrau ski area offers expert skiers a good amount of black runs to conquer including the Lauberhorn World Cup run and the steep and heart racing 'Kanonenrohr' run in Mürren. There is also some good off-piste powder on offer so try some adventure packed heli-skiing with the help of a local guide. Snowboarders will find the majority of their activity on the "First" mountain with some great free riding available as well as a terrain park to tackle and practice tricks.

Grindelward is a pleasant traditional village with a long mountaineering history. There is also a great selection of activities off the slopes, including the recently expanded toboggan runs, the cross-country track, the fun parks or the splendid walks through the surrounding scenery. The Grindelwald area is also packed with lively bars, cafes and restaurants. Start your après ski with a tipple at Pumuckl's on "First" mountain then head to the Expresso Bar or Gepsis bar in town to carry on the nights entertainment.
