Kitzbühel

Enjoy a ski and snowboard holiday beyond your wildest dreams

Kitzbühel is the most famous holiday resort in the Austrian Tyrol. Lying 800 metres above sea-level, its surrounding scenery is breathtaking and the town itself, which is more than 700 years old, is full of charm. Visitors of Kitzbühel are offered the opportunity to practice all kinds of sports and enjoying traditional activities, which have made Kitzbühel famous worldwide. This fashionable resort offers stylish restaurants, sophisticated nightspots, a casino as well as the mighty Hahnenkamm run, which dominates the resort, and tempts skiers from all over the world to take on this exciting challenge.

Although Kitzbühel is not particularly celebrated for its off-piste skiing, this resort has plenty to choose from. The Hahnenkamm area has some good off-piste skiing in the trees and on the Kitzbüheler Horn, one will usually find good ungroomed snow near the Eggl draglift. Bichlalm, which was once a non-descript little ski area overlooked by the Kitzbüheler Horn has also been transformed into a great off-piste/touring area where snowcats take up to 14 skiers or boarders into exhilarating back-country powderfields. It's is also well worth looking for the off-piste high above Pass Thurn, where there is a good chance of finding great powder due to the altitude.
