Italy

Thanks to Italy's mountainous geography, the country offers plenty of good ski resorts, including the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo and Courmayeur.

Italy's ski resorts span across some of the world's great mountains, with the SuperDolomiti region and the Milky Way offering hundreds of kilometres of lift-linked slopes just waiting for you to explore.

A holiday to one of the country's resorts offers amazing choice for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to expert. It is also considered to be less expensive to ski in Italy than in the neighbouring meccas of Switzerland, France and Austria.

We know Italian's "love life" so skiing here is a relaxed, friendly affair, with lots of eating beautiful Italian food, lots of drinking, stylish après-ski and plenty of charming accommodation options to suit a variety of budgets.

There are some amazing resorts to choose from such as Sestrière, who hosted the 2006 Olympic downhill event and Livigno, one of the remotest resorts in Europe and is also tax free, making it one of the cheapest resorts to ski at as well. Courmayeur, nestled beneath the forbidding Mont Blanc, with her gorgeous market town and charming Italian atmosphere and delightful Canazei which is situated at the beginning of the wonderfully picturesque Fassa Valley.

With a mixture of both old and new a ski and snowboard holiday in Italy will offer world-class ski resorts, great value ski accommodation, traditional customs, and over 1600 kilometres of piste with a flavour all their own.
