Fulpmes is one of the major towns in the Stubai valley - Neustift may be better-known and a larger administrative area but Fulpmes is the biggest settlement. The town is easily reached by road, using the Brenner motorway, or by public transport from Innsbruck and there is a local tram line which gives the option of a scenic journey from the 'big city'. The Austrian Ski Resort of Fulpmes has direct access to 14km of downhill skiing, with 15 individual pistes, served by 9 ski lifts. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.
