Kirchdorf
This ski resort will thrill beginners and families in a beautiful valley setting
In the middle of the Kitzbueheler Alps lies the romantic and family-friendly holiday paradise of 'Kirchdorf am Wilden Kaiser'. Kirchdorf is a small village just a few kilometres from the better known resort of St. Johann in Tirol, and only 10 kilometres from the world famous resort of Kitzbuhel. Kirchdorf has established a niche market for itself by capitalising on its natural assets.
This is a picturesque Tyrolean village with a small and inexpensive ski area of its own, making it an ideal destination for beginners, but at the same time its strategic location means that more experienced skiers can easily ski one of the large areas in its vicinity. The resort has a great reputation for its children's ski school programs. Apres ski in this resort consists of a few shops, bars and restaurants serving good value traditional and international cuisine. There is an excellent Wellness Centre in Kirchdorf with a swimming pool, sauna, steam room etc. There are also great walking trails and an ice skating rink. Kirchdorf is an excellent resort to learn to ski and snowboard.
