St. Moritz Transfers
St. Moritz is located in the southeastern part of the Swiss Alps in the Engadin Valley. It has its own little airport and is 126 kilometres from Lugano, the nearest city. The resort is 194 kilometres from Zurich and 424 kilometres from Geneva.
Arrival by Train:
St. Moritz is linked by rail, through a complicated series of tunnels, to the rest of Switzerland via Chur, with other links to non-Swiss population centres such as Milan and Munich. Travel time by train from Chur is 2 hours. From there the fine local Rhätische Bahn (RhB) takes over, from its brand new train and bus station.
The Bernina Express runs from Chur to St. Moritz via the Albula route and on to Italy past the spectacular Bernina peaks, lakes, and glaciers. The Engadine Star, which began service in 2000, makes its way from Klosters to St. Moritz in a couple of hours.
The glamorous Glacier Express, billed as 'the slowest express in the world,' connects St. Moritz with Zermatt via the Oberalp Pass, crossing 291 bridges during its 7½-hour journey. The train includes an antique burnished-wood dining car; you can book a table through Passaggio Rail. Reservations for these trains are mandatory and can be made at almost any European rail station. As on the federal railways, a variety of reduced-price passes are available. For information on the local train network, contact Rhätische Bahn or the regional tourism office, Graubünden Holidays.

Arrival by Car:
From the north part of Switzerland take the highway A 13 as far as Thusis, from there the roads lead into Engadine valley over the Julier Pass. During the winter season drivers have the choice of driving over the pass or loading the car on the train from Thusis to Samedanthe, however service is limited and reservations are essential. The cost per car is approx. 145 SF. By car from Zurich, take N3 (later N13) to Chur and, once there, head southwest along Route 3. If you stay in St. Moritz and not in one of the outlying towns, you'll pay a fee for parking, about €9 a day unless you are staying for more than a week. In that case, there is a discount card available.
